Henry A. Hite, Major, U.S. Army Ret. Age 95, left his earthly home to join his wife and The Lord in their heavenly home on Sunday, March 12, 2017. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 68 years, Thelma Claudene Hite; son, Thomas C. Hite; mother, Mattie (Margaret) Vick Hite Brewer; father, Henry Alex Hite; sister, Martha K Hite Wallace Ferrell. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons, Terry W. (Barb) Hite and Bruce L. Henry A. Hite, Major, U.S. Army Ret. Age 95, left his earthly home to join his wife and The Lord in their heavenly home on Sunday, March 12, 2017. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 68 years, Thelma Claudene Hite; son, Thomas C. Hite; mother, Mattie (Margaret) Vick Hite Brewer; father, Henry Alex Hite; sister, Martha K Hite Wallace Ferrell. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons, Terry W. (Barb) Hite and Bruce L. (Fran) Hite; grandchildren, Craig Hite, Angela (Leon) Hill, Jennifer (Steve) Deering, Kevin (Tracie) Hite, Pamela (Will Diaz) Hite and Kelly (Kurt) Hagestuen; eleven great grandchildren; brother, Ben L. Hite and sister-in-law, Gerri (Bob) Kopjoe. He was a member of Hendersonville First United Methodist Church and Disciples Sunday School Class. A Life Member of the Military Officer's Association of America, serving as treasurer for five years. He was Past President of his Sunday School Class and Young at Heart. After his retirement from military service, he was employed in the automobile business as an accountant and office manager. . Visitation with the family will be 2 until 6 pm Sunday, March 19th at Hermitage Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Monday at Hendersonville First United Methodist Church, 217 East Main St., Hendersonville, TN 37075. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted Noon Monday with Rev. Randy Goodman and Rev. Lynn Hinkle officiating. Entombment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as Active Pallbearers. The Sumner County Chapter of MOAA and Disciples Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
